Our Journey So Far
The Pride makers came together to recognise Loughborough's need for a Pride of its own, creating a community-led movement built on inclusion, belonging, and support.
Loughborough Pride's inaugural event brought an atmosphere of equality and celebration to participating venues across Loughborough town.
Loughborough Pride's first-day event, Picnic in the Park, marked a joyful step forward in LGBTQ+ visibility and community growth after a year of continued development.
Picnic in the Park returned bigger and better for the town's largest LGBTQ+ celebration yet.
Meet the Team
Ashley is one of the founding members of Loughborough Pride, helping turn a shared vision of inclusion, belonging, and community support into a community-led organisation. Through personal health challenges, Pride has also been a source of support and recovery, and Ashley has continued to give back by volunteering time, sharing experience, and helping shape it into what it is today.
Shane joined Loughborough Pride to help unite the town, promote love and inclusion, and stand proudly in solidarity with the community. He values the safe, welcoming space Pride creates and the confidence, connection, and friendship it brings.
Rebecca is a proud ally of the LGBTQ+ community who is passionate about standing alongside others, challenging prejudice, and celebrating Pride as a symbol of unity, visibility, and support. Rebecca is committed to fighting people's corner and standing proudly with the community.
Ben sees Loughborough Pride as a way to give back to the community, build bridges, and create a safe, inclusive space for everyone. Ben values Pride as a celebration of love and acceptance, and as an important platform for raising awareness and continuing the fight for equality.
Valen volunteers for Loughborough Pride because it has given them a found family and a strong sense of belonging. They're passionate about creating a safer, more inclusive space for LGBT+ people in Loughborough and feel proud to support the community.
